The title of this sculpture says it all - "Celebration of Life"and depicts two people dancing despite the rough world that surrounds them. The figures in the middle represent the two people and the raw and rough stone that surround them represent the rough world that also serves as a natural frame.
What makes this sculpture very intriguing besides the contrast of a rough exterior and a smooth interior is that its all one piece - nothing glued in! The artist transforms a lump of serpentine stone by chipping away bits of stone from the middle of the lump with
chisel and hammer until the figures in the middle emerge. He then smooth the figures with sand paper. Lastly, he polishes the figures with beeswax which enhances the color to the dark luster that you see remarkably different from the original outer frame.

The message is universal for many different life situation which makes it the most sought after piece from our gallery. Each piece is unique because it is hand carved from scratch!
